CURRENT APPLICATIONS - NIDA ACTING WORKSHOPS IN ROCKHAMPTON
CLOSING 20 AUGUST 2012

If learning about acting techniques and how to prepare for auditions with tutors from one of the nations most respected drama academies sounds enticing, then the Central Queensland Performing Arts Foundation and Rockhampton Regional Council want to hear from you.

The Central Queensland Performing Arts Foundation and Rockhampton Regional Council are offering four places to young performers from Rockhampton Region to attend two National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) workshops, to be held in Rockhampton in the September / October 2012 school holidays.

The successful applicants will attend two short NIDA workshops: Acting Techniques and Audition Intensive, with the Foundation and Rockhampton Regional Council covering the attendance costs.

Acting Techniques is a four day workshop which enables participants to identify and experience the essentials of acting, developing skills in voice, movement, improvisation and characterisation.

The Audition Intensive workshop runs for two day and shows participants how to audition, what kinds of scenes to choose and how to best prepare for the casting process.

Applicants must be between 16 and 25 years of age, and must be able to demonstrate involvement in the performing arts.

The workshops will be held at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre from Tuesday 2 October to Sunday 7 October. Applicants must be willing to attend both workshops.
